Eine App für das Bayerische Oberland

Seitwerk hat kürzlich eine eigene App, die „boa“, für das Bayerische Oberland entwickelt. Ziel war es, dass Informationen aus verschiedenen Bereichen für die Menschen im Oberland gebündelt und ansprechend dargestellt werden. Ganz nach dem Motto „aus der Region, für die Region“ findet man deshalb in App aktuelle News und Nachrichten aus dem Oberland, Veranstaltungen aus der Region, Sportergebnisse regionaler Vereine der Sportarten Fußball, Handball, Volleyball, Basketball und Eishockey, aktuelle Verkehrsmeldungen sowie das live-Programm von Radio Oberland inklusive Podcasts und Beiträgen zum Nachhören.

Seitwerk entwickelte für die boa sowohl das Konzept, Grafiken und das Layout und programmierte anschließend die App. Die App ist in Flutter entwickelt, einem Cross-Platform Framework. Das bedeutet, dass sie nicht einzeln für iOS und Android entwickelt wird, sondern dieselbe Anwendung auf beide Plattformen ausgespielt wird und dort den identischen Funktionsumfang bietet. Dadurch können neue Features und Verbesserungen schneller für beide Betriebssysteme entwickelt und bereitgestellt werden. Trotz des Cross-Platform-Ansatzes haben wir aber noch einzelne betriebssystemspezifische Anpassungen vorgenommen, damit sich die App auch in der jeweiligen Umgebung "zu Hause" fühlt.

Für den Aufbau des Sportbereiches recherchierten wir regionale Sportvereine der verschiedenen Sportarten und kümmerten uns um die Einpflegung von Vereinen, Tabellen und Spielen in die Open-Source-Plattform Pimcore. Die aktuellen Sportergebnisse werden jedes Wochenende von uns eingepflegt, für den Bereich Fußball konnten wir eine Schnittstelle des BFV einrichten.

Seitwerk recently developed its own app, the "boa", for the Bavarian Upper Country. The aim was to bundle information from various areas for the people and to present it in an appealing way. According to the motto "from the region, for the region", the app provides current news and events from the region, sports results of regional soccer, handball, volleyball, basketball and ice hockey clubs, current traffic news as well as the live program of Radio Oberland including podcasts and reports to listen to.

Seitwerk developed the concept, graphics and layout for boa and then programmed the app. The app is developed in Flutter, a cross-platform framework. This means that it is not developed separately for iOS and Android, but the same application is played out on both platforms and offers the identical range of functions there. This allows new features and improvements to be developed and deployed more quickly for both operating systems. Despite the cross-platform approach, however, we still made individual operating system-specific adjustments so that the app also feels "at home" in the respective environment.

To set up the sports section, we researched regional sports clubs for the various sports and took care of entering clubs, tables and matches into the open source platform Pimcore. The current sports results are entered by us every weekend, for the soccer section we were able to set up an interface of the BFV.
